- Folder management
- Enterprise user management. Gives the best control over management of employee movement out of any password manager I have tested
- Audit capabilities are extremely detailed and can easily be sent to an external SIEM/logging service via logging integration
- External sharing is extremely useful as a secure way of sharing temp passwords and other secrets with external users
- Free family subscription for business users is a huge plus
- SSO implementation and provisioning is easy to set up Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- PAM/remote access requires a gateway, there's no agent based solution which can make architecture difficult/messy depending on the environment and network access controls in place. Also means an additional dedicated box required to run yet another piece of software, rather than just deploying a package via SCCM or similar
- You can't move an existing, non-shared folder structure into a new/existing shared folder. Each record must be moved individually and the folder structure re-created inside the shared folder. This can be time consuming if you didn't use a shared folder to begin with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Keeper is easy to use out of the box, and easy to configure options when using a business or enterprise account. The free "Family Account" for users while they are part of a business account is a great incentive to get people to treat all their passwords securely and the numerous browser plugins / mobile app allows for pre-fill of passwords so they are essentially set and forget.
A number of additional configuration options have been added in the 3 years we have been a business customer, which have made security around sharing passwords even better. The support team have always been helpful when required.
Usage reporting in the administration console is very helpful to understand who is using the platform, and how, as well as consolidated reporting on weak / potentially compromised passwords.
In all after using Keeper for Business and home use for the past 7 years, I'm happy with what it brings to the table. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Unfortunately you cannot manage common business administration tasks like password resets due to Keeper's security approach. This can be negated by configuring SSO if your plan allows for it, however this, too, is somewhat of a cumbersome configuration compared to many other applications but well worth the security it provides. The autofill is the most helpful. When I get to work for the day, password management is seamless. One of the items that I think makes it unique is the fact that it forces you to put in your Authenticator code with MFA before the password. My history with other vendors was not as solid. Keeper is one of the apps that I have open all of the time being a SysAdmin. The Search function is key too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it seems that websites get confused if I have a similar login for sub-sites. Also sometimes the autofill icon is in front of the selection that needs to be made on the website to verify before hitting enter. I have to manually turn it off when I am logging in to some sites. It's pretty easy to use, adoption is not that difficult and once the light goes on for people and they get it, and stop using spreadsheets, they like it and more importantly they use it. Also, any employee with a license also gets a separate home use license.
I also like the way we can share passwords among the team, store MFA tokens in keeper instead of tying them to one persons phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A minor issue, but the keeper icon that appears in password boxes on web pages covers the little eye icon to see the password. It's mildly annoying. You can still tab and get to that icon, but really they should move it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface is very simple and user friendly which has helped drive user adoption.
New features rolled out to the platform with no need for additional licensing
The recent addition of supporting MFA codes within the vault has been a huge benefit to us.
The Keeper team continually contact us to ensure we are getting the most from the platform, providing areas for optimization to ensure we fully deliver on ROI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The standalone application is noteably slower than the browser add-on.
We'd like to see a feature to allow you to archive records prior to deleting records. A further feature would be to have Keeper auto archive old records that have never been accessed or not accessed in a given ammount of years. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the security audit feature which gives you a view of all of your passwords and evaluates them for strength and uniqueness. It makes it easy to look at all your passwords and determine which ones need to be updated. On top of this it shows you records at risk in a data leak with the breach watch. The interface was a bit confusing at first, it just took me some getting used to, but the folders and sorting of passwords makes it easy to find the ones youre looking for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Offers browser extensions, mobile and desktop apps with auto-complete.
Offer family licenses with enterprise plan.
They have good team partnered with us in training all people on how to use Keeper and why it is important. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Product:
- The password leak alerts doesn't take into consideration if the password leaked with the email or website URL, making it informative signal with low confidence.
- Had very bad experience onboarding employees using SSO due to how to setup their device approval flow and bugs in it. Employees cannot approve their own device via email, and self-approval flow using existing session has very confusing copy. Their team recommended to me to setup auto-approve which is very insecure practice and defeat the purpose of device approval.
- The status of employees are very confusing, even their team were confused about what each status mean e.g. locked vs blocked.
- Their sms 2FA feature doesn’t work in some countries like UAE.
Customer support:
- As an enterprise customer paying premium, I have never got my issue resolved unless I escalated via the account manager.
- Experienced a bug during a session with the customer support team led to deletion of some accounts, the customer support representative straightaway started to blame me and offered me to pay them $225 per hour to recover the email. Even though they were in the call, and saw me taking the steps they recommended and saw the confirmation message.
- Generally speaking there is a tendency to close support ticket and blame the customer or suggest a quick fix instead of taking it up with the product team. E.g. when reported some employees complaint that they are not receving sms 2FA code, instead of going to investigate they said you should not us SMS 2FA and use authenticator app. When I told them there is a bug in the additional device approval flow, they said use this command and it will auto-approve devices for you (insecure practice). Keeper keeps passwords organized within folders and sub-folders; you can also create more folders and inside those folders create records as well as files and photos to keep safe.
You can set Keeper to self-destruct after five attempts of failed logins and destroy those files that are kept safe.
The level of encryption is multi-tiered, and the most advanced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I got nothing negative to say about Keeper at this point; it s straightforward to use and relatively pleasant to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Keeper is such an easy user interface and is highly secure. I trust it entirely for keeping my many user accounts and passwords safe and use it on a daily basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use 2 accounts for keeper. One for work and one for perosnal. I share a directory shortcut to my personal records in my work account and sometimes later find I've dreated personal records in my Work account. While there is a process to change ownership of records, I wish it were a little simpler and an option to set the owner when a record is created vs going back later to change ownership.` Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing is the Okta / SSO integration! Simply adding someone to our Identity Provider (Okta) automatically creates a Keeper account and from there we can share various system, team, and account credentials. We also love the virtual MFA functionality, that has saved us a lot of headaches and and even when sharing a record with a non-Keeper user, the MFA tied to a record (if present) goes along with it. I honestly can't think of anything, maybe the fact that sometimes people don't create records in the right container? That's more of a user issue than a Keeper problem though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
