I like that there is a method of storing the database on my own pc/dropbox account rather than on someone's cloud service. I'd rather have the peace of mind knowing how I'm securing it rather than some other company. The software is easy to use, simple and of course free. I'm achieving greater security by having this application installed on my pc and phone by allowing it to come up with lengthy passwords instead of things I need to remember. Thus far, I can't say that I don't like anything about it. It does what it should and doesn't pretend to do other things it doesn't need too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I use this for work and wish I had it for my person life as well. Life has to many apps, programs, logins and passwords to remember them all. This is a must have for me, because there is no way I can remember them all. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have not found any down sides to this app, it's perfect for what I use it for. Just remember to hit the little save file after you make any additions or changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
KeePass keeps all accesses in one place. It has the ability to generate TOTP codes and dock them itself when authenticating. The database containing passwords is stored in a file, but it is possible to synchronise with a remote source. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing like simple credentials between users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. The password database protection come with master password and key file, without those both thing anyone just can't do with my password database. So, it's give me a lot of security.
2. Non technical person can easily setup the KeePass on that computer
3. I can store my important files along with my password entries. (like, backup code file) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. There is no any official support of cloud sync. (Many plugins are available but it will never work like official cloud sync)
2. No any option to self-host it on my server. (for ex. vaultwarden password manager give this facilities) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
KeePass is very easy to use. I am using it since last 5 years to keep my password safe. You can organize your keys/passwords, it can autofill your passwords. You can use your master database file safe and use it on another PC with Keepass software installed so it is easy to migrate to another PC while is secure with your master password. It does gives the notification when new version is available. I think it should get updated automatically. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
KeePass has become my go-to solution for secure password management, and as a user, there are a few features that I appreciate. Firstly, I really value the fact that KeePass is an offline solution, ensuring that my sensitive data stays within my control at all times. It seamlessly integrates into my backup routine, allowing me to incorporate it into my overall data protection strategy. The absence of a built-in cloud sync option is actually a benefit for me as it grants me the freedom to choose my preferred cloud sync and backup providers. I can also implement additional encryption solutions to further fortify my password database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I fine the implementation of plugins lacking. Unfortunately, there is no straightforward way to determine the trustworthiness of individual plugins. Consequently, I choose to err on the side of caution and refrain from using any of them. I believe it would greatly enhance the user experience if KeePass could provide a more reliable system for verifying the authenticity and security of plugins. This would instill greater confidence in users looking to extend the functionality of KeePass while maintaining the highest standards of security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
KeePass is free to use, without hidden costs or subscription fees.. KeePass uses AES encryption to ensure your passwords are secure and protected from unauthorized access. KeePass stores passwords in an encrypted database, which can only be unlocked with a master password or key file. KeePass is available for Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, and iOS, making accessing your passwords on any device easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I do not like in KeePass is that, Unlike some other password managers, it does not offer automatic syncing across devices, so you'll need to transfer your password database between devices manually. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Confidentiality is a critical factor for any developers that we have right now. Either if we are sharing our screen and trying to log in to some platform but forgot the password or you do not want to share the password that you are typing to the counterpart, then KeePass plays a major role in that Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The passwords are all maintained locally, which is good, but if the same can be held in the cloud, we can use it across all systems, and we need access to any of the platforms where KeePass be required. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am using Keepass in my organization to store all the credentials in one place. It is excellent software where we can keep all the passwords together in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When working in a group team, Keepass does not have a cloud version where we can refer to the same file in cloud storage. So sometimes it is difficult to manage one single file for all the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
