It is easy to create new articles, in the form of a Wiki.
We are all used to use Wikipedia, so the format is not unknown for any users, and it's a good way to keep information updated by a number of users.

XWiki is not just a wiki, it is a extensible development platform to build online collaborative tools. But you don't need to be a developer to start using it, and even to develop small applications. And best of all, it is open source and therefore freely accessible. With tons of extensions and growing, you can customize XWiki to really match your specific needs. We use it to create public WebSite that display business information, and we provide the backend to manage the data on the exact same platform. One tool for managing, organising collaborating and sharing information. Compare to other collaborative platform, we have chosen XWiki because it is open source, and it provide full flexibility. Seeing some of our work, you cannot easily know that XWiki is behind, so much it has been customised. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The default UI still needs to be improved for better usability. Newcomers are sometime lost by the powerful features proposed, and developers by the myriad of API available. While you have the feeling that there is real intend to create the best collaboration tool, you sometime feel frustrated by some unexpected behaviours. This is probably the price for getting a tool that smart and very customisable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This tool offers the possibility of adding new articles in an easy way. Also, it has lots of options for formatting text. For me, it is remarkable all Macros that it has. For example, it is really useful the 'Code' macro because allows us to add extracts of code that then it will be shown formatted perfectly. Another functionality that I like is the possibility of adding CSS styles to texts and components. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In my opinion, it is a bit confuse the way that the hierarchy of the pages can be modified. Apart from this, the WYSIWYG does not work as good as I would like to. For instance, most of the time it is not possible to copy text in editor area when this tab is selected, so it is necessary to change to Source tab for doing it. This means that the process of writing, in some occasions, becomes tedious. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the provision of scripting in pages, plugins and the highly modular architecture. Also the WYSIWYG editor and the LDAP authentication are really amazing and keeps my tech team happy.
Built on the Java platform and open source modules from Apache. Uses HTML and web standards. WCAG compatible which are really nice.

Nothing specific in terms of features that made me think XWiki stood out from the crowded collaboration space. No value proposition to bring me back to the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easiness of use and performance. At work, we're using it for knowledge transfer for several projects and it's showing quite good results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Maybe the fact that the hierarchy for pages is weird (maybe it's due to our config), but sometimes I would like to go directly to the project's page instead of the index.
Sometimes I get weird search results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Powerful tool to manage your documents and procedures. We are also using it to enable collaboration within our company and to co-create and enrich documents.
Since XWiki is also a development platform it allows us to develop and implement features we did not think about at the beginning of the project. Our needs are evolving, so is XWiki and this is clearly a good thing from our perspective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface could be improved but this has been polished in the newest versions of XWiki. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
