My new team couldn't bear to spend what they thought they'd have to for recruiting for our UX research. I introduced them to UserInterviews.com and we were off to the races! They were in LOVE with being able to move and pivot so quickly. In just a few months, I calculated that we saved $10k in costs which allowed us to complete our project in budget. I'm VERY grateful! It is easy to accidentally set up a project to recruit "professionals" at 3x the cost. When our new hire did this, customer service contacted us and corrected the problem. I'm not sure what the difference between "professional" and "consumer" is in their database, but they kept us straight. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

User Interviews is an excellent tool for recruitment, especially with the added ability to use the Research Hub and incorporate our own participant list. The quality of participants from the User Interviews panel is generally very high, and the platform makes the recruitment process smooth and efficient. Their customer service is also very responsive and supportive, which enhances the overall experience. UI genuinely makes my life easier while undergoing the tedious task of recruitment, and I use it for literally every project I do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One downside is the lack of auto-save, especially while writing the screener or updating study design or details. There have been instances where I’ve written a detailed screener, stepped away for a moment, and lost my progress after refreshing the page. Additionally, it would be helpful to have a chance to update the project incentive for all participants, as long as they have not already completed the session. The addition of Tags and Notes has been incredibly helpful. Also, the new function that allows questions to be added as separate columns for each screener version is an excellent feature. Over the past year, there have been significant improvements, which have made a big difference in recruiting efficiency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One key improvement would be the ability to add images to questions and answer choices. Sometimes, respondents struggle to fully understand the text alone, leading to confusion in their answers. Incorporating images would make questions more intuitive and improve response accuracy.
Another useful enhancement would be the ability to integrate dropdown menus for specific answer types. For example, when asking, "Which brand and model do you use?", a dropdown for selecting a brand could dynamically trigger a corresponding model selection field. This would eliminate the need for multiple pages and significantly streamline logic management. Currently, due to these limitations, we often have to create multiple pages and complex logic to refine the answers correctly.
Additionally, it would be helpful to have the ability to send messages to respondents in the same session. At the moment, once participants are classified under "Approved" or "Completed," it requires manually searching for each respondent, which can be time-consuming.
Lastly, I really appreciate the bulk messaging feature, which allows multiple respondents to be selected at once—it’s incredibly convenient! It would be great if a similar selection function could be applied to choosing completed respondents as well.
Overall, these improvements would further enhance usability and efficiency. Thank you! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how user friendly it and how it has reduced the amount of back and forth required when interacting with potential participants. It has drastically increased the pace at which we can turn around research and reduced the manual steps in our flow. I appreciate the support team as they are always super responsive, helpful and kind. This is a tool I highly recommend! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would love to see improvements with uploading users to a study and not having them immediately imported into the hub. Managing users is a bit more strenuous than I would like and requires too much time and effort on part of our researchers to clean up the participant pool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy and fast to find participants, it's what I love about User Interviews. The platform is pretty intuitive, and getting started was effortless. I use User Interviews for every study I run, and it saves me a lot of time on recruiting. The ability to quickly replace participants who don’t meet my criteria (or those who aren’t honest—researchers know what I’m talking about!) is a huge plus.
Another big advantage is the high-quality respondents for a fair price. I consistently find engaged and thoughtful participants who provide valuable insights, making my research much more effective. I also appreciate how responsive the support team is—they’re always ready to boost my studies when I need more applicants. Overall, it’s a reliable tool that makes my job much easier. Some of the recent updates take a bit of getting used to. One feature I’d really love is a quick way to access a respondent’s completed task right next to their name—it would make tracking their progress much smoother. Also, while the support team is great, there are times when I reach out and get the “We’re offline now” message, which can be frustrating when I need quick assistance.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that some participants show up repeatedly in my studies. While it’s great to have engaged users, But overall, these are small issues compared to the value the platform provides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The control I have over selecting participants and how reliable participants are - very few no-shows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We usually have. alot of quotas and it's tough to recruit specifically to fill those quotas or see how close we are to meeting them (max and min quotas)
Before confirming people, we share participant grids with clients for approval showing screener responses as well as a few backup participanst they could swap in. We do this with a nice looking Google Sheet. It can take a while to create the googel sheet, add people too it, format it nicely, and track on the sheet who we have confirmed, interviewed, etc.It would be nice if UI could help with thi. I think the fact that it is so each to use. I had never used UI before but it didn't take me too long to figure out how to use it. Also, i like the fact that there is someone available to support you in your studies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think one thing that can be improved is that highlight more clearly on why a particular candidate in not fit for the study.
Secondly, I always have to manually go email the support to make changes to the project.
Third, the calendar set up has been tricky when i am making a project for a moderator. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Ability to find the right participants for the study in 24-48 hours
- Great support and project curators
- The scheduling feature is great
- Participant managment is easy to use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- A bit sluggish performance from time to time, but I can see some improvements in that matter.
- Some participant profiles feel empty and there is a need to ask for basic info such as LinkedIn profile in the screeners Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it is fast to set-up and review respondents. I believe there is a lot of potential here for opening up projects and closing them fast.
Setting up a screener is very easy, and so is uploading the sample that will be used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think it is very limited on what you can do regarding:
- Filtering for candidates before reaching out to them. This way you can select more easily who will be a part of this study.
- There need to be more customization options for screeners, more options to show/hide questions based on previous answers, options for numeric questions, multiple answers for numeric questions, questions based on %, termination criteria expanded to include qualifying/terminating based on which numbers they selected or only answer within a set limit-.
- There needs to be a simpler way of matching data IDs with the respondents in the dashboard. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As a UX researcher, I appreciate how smooth and efficient User Interviews makes recruitment. The participant pool is high quality, and everything, from screeners to scheduling and incentives, is managed quickly, saving me tons of time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much to dislike, though I do wish there were more integrated tools so everything could be managed in one place, from planning to insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I appreciate most about User Interviews is the high quality of the participants. It’s clear that each person has been qualified, which gives me confidence in the quality and integrity of feedback we receive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The lack of European support can sometimes cause delays in moving projects forward. It would be helpful to have more region-specific resources or infrastructure to better support teams operating outside of North America. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
