What do you like best about Slack?

That that are separate 'channels' for each project/subject to keep conversation on a particular type of topic together; these channels are easily searchable as well, so I can always find the information I need to reference. Slack also has integrations to solve my daily needs--administration of polls, collaboration on code (esp. MATLAB), integration with the Google Suite (esp. Google Calendar), as well as Wunderlist. There are more programs integrated into Slack than I could possibly use or try. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

The free version of this product is wonderful, but unless your group pays for the team as a whole, only the most recent several thousand messages are saved. This sounds like a lot, but when your team really relies on Slack, that quota is quickly met. With the search feature being one of my favorite pieces to reference information I need in a specific channel, this can become problematic when that information is no longer accessible. What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?

Everyone in a particular group (or team as Slack calls it) is able to contact one another without sharing phone numbers. I can either easily send a message to everyone on a particular project, or directly to a specific individual I need to speak with. This blends email and text/instant messaging, with desktop or mobile apps and specific notification settings. I can set a status so my research assistants know I am in a meeting and will not be able to get back to them promptly, or have phone notifications set so I can receive and respond to important questions immediately. Slack also offers the ability to snooze messages between certain hours, so when I'm off the clock, I'm off the clock. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Slack?

This application is great! It’s simple to use and makes communication smooth and efficient. Sending messages is fast and reliable, and it’s perfect for keeping colleagues in the loop with the latest company updates and news. It really helps everyone stay connected and informed. Highly recommended for teams that need to stay organized and up to date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

While Slack is a great communication tool, there are a few things that could be improved. Sometimes, it can feel a bit overwhelming with too many channels and notifications, making it easy to miss important messages. Also, the search function, while useful, isn’t always the most intuitive or accurate. Lastly, the app can be a bit heavy on system resources, especially when running in the background all day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?

Slack solves the problem of scattered communication by bringing all team conversations into one organized platform. Instead of relying on long email threads or switching between multiple apps, I can quickly message colleagues, share files, and stay updated on projects in real time. It keeps everyone aligned, boosts collaboration, and saves a lot of time by making communication more efficient and centralized. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Slack?

What I like about using Slack is how organized it is when it comes to adding leads. We're in the auto financing business, and when we get prospective clients, we post them on Slack. The great thing is there's a thread option where we can attach documents or add anything needed. You can also mention names, and lastly, you can integrate other tools like HubSpot and more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

I can’t really think of anything bad or anything I dislike about Slack because everything I need is already there. I can’t think of anything at the moment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before, we used other tools, but they weren’t that good to use because they either had too many unnecessary features or were lacking important ones. When we started using Slack, our work became a lot easier, like organizing leads, meetings, and information. Plus, it can be integrated with other CRMs, which helps make our work even more efficient. Slack makes team communication easy and efficient. It’s clean, intuitive, and keeps everything—from chats to files—in one place. Channels help organize discussions, and integrations with tools like Google Drive and Zoom save tons of time. Notifications are smart (not spammy), and the search is quick and powerful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One common dislike about Slack is that it can become overwhelming—especially in larger teams or fast-paced workspaces. With so many active channels and notifications, it’s easy to lose track of important messages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Slack?

Slack is easy to manage, easy to integrate with other software, and easy to implement.

Any person can use it very easily. There is no need to train a new person about using it.

I really like Slack Software because Slack isn't a headache just like some others. In Slack, there is no chance to make mistakes, everything is in front of my eyes.

I like that we can create channels for every single requirement, in my office there is a channel named Announcement, and it's very easy to get notified.

There is a channel called Daily Tasks, and we use this channel every morning to write our daily tasks. We are going to work on the points below. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

There is nothing to dislike.

Everything is awesome in Slack. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?

Slack is very useful for remote team as mine. We discuss about the workflow. Tasks assin to the team member by team leader. We use our channels as we need time to time.

Cleints are also connected with us via Slack and they connect that team member who work on particular task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Slack?

The user interface is lovely. Its easy to navigate and looks very organized. I have to use it everyday and it is excellent to use.

It was easy to learn when I used it for the first time.

For someone who is familiar with Discord, this is a similar application.

I love the feature of huddle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

I feel we can make the experience better by adding of gestures - example to reply to particular text like slide would make it more

simpler. The other suggestion would be customizing the emoji to react on the messages.

I wish to have a calendar extension for the PC/laptop's calendar itself where my laptop's calendar get synced and I don't have to necessarily open the app for the same.

The shortcut keys for messages example E to edit a message, does not seem to work for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is helpful to have everything at one space. It is beneficial for daily updates, collaboration, keeping track of work, and connecting with colleagues. We don't need to use different apps for keeping track of meeting, joining meeting or even for calling someone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Sometimes I face issues with slack huddles where sometimes my voice is not audible on initial joining so I have to rejoin the huddle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?

Slack is solving several communication and collaboration challenges, particularly for teams working in fast-paced, remote, or hybrid environments.

How it benefits me (and other users) is that Slack helps reduce the time spent on searching for information, coordinating tasks, or trying to schedule meetings. It allows for more efficient communication, better task management, and a smoother overall workflow. It essentially makes collaboration feel more seamless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Slack?

I use Slack for team collaboration, file sharing and projects discussion. One thing or feature I love so much about slack is the freedom to create channels for different topics . This helps keep the team and discussion organized, making it possible for me to stay afloat of each project and well informed .

Real life discussion and chats no matter where you are is one the biggest flex. I and my team had a webinar ending of January 2025 and it was an awesome experience interacting and sharing our ideas. It connects seamlessly with other tools like Google drive, zoom or Trello.

Also, they have excellent professional customer services . Respond to complaints is a professional way and quick . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Yes! Every app have its own hiccup or quirks. If you are a new User on Slack, you might get confused with the number of messages that will stack up at your page . To mé the notifications are overwhelming if one don't know how to navigate in such app which might lead to confusion and deleting or leaving the platform .

Again, the paid plan can be a bit expensive, emphasis on "a bit". Because, one gets the value of his money or what he/she has purchased.

Besides these, Slack is an excellent tool for businesses and startups and teams looking for an efficient way to communicate, definitely, the benefits outweigh the downsides.

Slack is worth considering if you need a feature-rich messaging tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is connecting and bring the team together in real time and it's been very helpful tool no doubt. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Slack?

The best thing about Slack is that it is a single place where I can get updates about my work, I can chat with people, I can get notifications for my meeting events as well and I can see a preview of my work.

There are a lot of features of Slack, one of which is webhooks which allows us to send alarm notifications from AWS to our channels. This makes our work very easy.

It is very easy to use, and the implementation of Slack in our organization was very easy. It is also easy to integrate various tools with slack.

I am using slack daily to communicate with my team and to keep an eye on my work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Slack?

Sometimes I have seen that Slack notification sounds are disabled automatically on my laptop. However, with a laptop restart, it gets fixed. I don't know maybe this is a bug with Slack or my laptop but it's not a big thing.

However, Slack has no other disadvantages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Slack solving and how is that benefiting you?

First problem that Slack is solving for me is effective communication with my team. In the past I have used Skype, MS teams etc. but they do not provide as many integrations as Slack provides.

On Slack, I can monitor my work, chat with my team-mates, Video/Audio call my colleagues, get notifications about my calendar events, Jira events, AWS alarms etc. all in a single place.

Slack has improved our incident response time because we have integrated all our AWS/DataDog alarms with Slack which gives us timely alerts about our alarms.

Also, it eliminates the need for a ticketing tool for alerts as we can directly acknowledge/resolve alerts directly on Slack.

I can also merge my Pull Requests on the go with a simple click of a button. The integrations available on Slack are amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
