1) For the beginner, I think you can program and release a survey more quickly on Qualtrics than you could on Survey Monkey. Qualtrics has basic tutorials that get you up and running quickly - but if you want to employ complicated features, expect a much longer learning curve. 2) The out of the box features handle most reasonably complex surveys. 3) Allows you to use JavaScript and it has JavaScript elements specific to Qualtrics. You can add your HTML, CSS, and employ JQuery features. You can also pass variables in and out of the the survey allowing for a lot of flexibility (if you pass variables to web-based alorithims or scripts you write. For higher license levels, it offers API access. 4) Qualtrics is widely used so there's a lot of support on YouTube and various educational institution sites so getting answers to questions is far easier than with most survey packages.
In a nutshell, it allows you to quickly program simple surveys and it allows you enormous flexibility if you have the technical ability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1) Although they have telephone support with a wide range of hours, they're support people are not experienced programmers so getting a solution is often difficult. They are great for the basics though. 2) In general, their documentation covers the surface of each feature but the power of Qualtrics involves going well beyond the surface of each feature (and how features can be combined together). Their menu-driven conditional system can be tedious to work with and only allows you to go to a second level deep. I strongly suggest getting some significant JavaScript skills under your belt which allows you to write highly complex conditionals (and not use a tedious GUI). 3) Expensive. Not as expensive as Confirmit, but it seems just as powerful, but the starting annual license is $5K (maybe even more now - and that's the most basic license that serious users would have difficulty being limited to) and it goes up quickly from there. 4) Qualtrics is the only company that has survey "responses" counted against your license. However, "responses" are not completes. For most people responses are respondents who complete a survey or who terminate in a survey. You have to really understand Qualtrics responses or you might accidentally spend a whole lot more than you intended. 5) Lack of access to the CSS associated with their templates. CSS manipulation would be SO much easier if they simply gave you access to the template CSS for each template. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The power. There's so much that I can do with Qualtrics – and I keep on figuring out new ways to use the platform to deliver value to my clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's a learning curve, and while Qualtrics does a fine job with support its educational roots are obvious, and it could stand to be a little more intuitive. My biggest hangup is with customer service and support. It's deteriorated markedly since I first signed on with Qualtrics, with a new account manager every year who doesn't even do me the courtesy of reaching out to talk in person. I may seem like small potatoes to them, but I teach how to use Qualtrics at the local university in addition to using it in my business, so I'm actually influencing the next generation of Qualtrics users ... and they can't grasp that. Finally, every change that's been made to the product over the last five years has made it worse. I'm paying more for an arguably inferior product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Qualtrics is simply the best-in-class product for experience management, especially surveys. It's got all the features you could ever want (possibly too many), and if you can dream of what insights you want to gather, Qualtrics has a way to do it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface is too complicated, leading to the necessity for dedicated training on the tool, which they seem to outsource to other firms for some reason. The ramp-up is a bit rough, and it's somewhat hard to integrate with other tools. Once you're up and running, it's great, but the learning curve is a bit too steep. I've found that we utilize probably a tenth of the feature set that we could use, which is great and powerful for us, but it is a little over-built and unnecessarily complex for our needs. Qualtrics is a robust platform with flexible features to meet nearly any need. It's pretty user friendly & intuitive, especially from a survey design standpoint. Surveys look nice. We use Qualtrics daily. The live dashboarding is second to none. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Qualtrics can be too advanced for its own good in some cases. Certain tasks that should be simple are more complex than they should be. The platform I used prior to Qualtrics was a tenth of the cost and made certain things easier. Regardless, Qualtrics offers too many advantages to go back. Customer support is lackluster, but there's a large library of articles that typically can help. Calling support is much better than online chat. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Qualtrics is very user-friendly and intuitive to use. Beyond the many different question types, there are countless ways to customize your survey to achieve your goals. The addition of CSS and javascript code is a very useful function. When you are encountering challenges implementing something, the customer support and Qualtrics forums have proven to be useful tools. Additionally, it is very simple to integrate Qualtrics into Prolific (a participant recruiting platform), which also makes it a wonderful tool to conduct survey-based research. The biggest downside of Qualtrics is the cost associated with it. I am lucky enough to access it through my institution. Otherwise, it would be unaffordable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can do just about anything in the platform, and investing the time up front to build out a new project saves us *so* much time and headache further down the line as we're dealing with complex data needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If we had a more unified strategy as an organization, we could replace several of our specialized software tools with Qualtrics since the functionality is there. But that is an Us Problem. Also it's annoying and cumbersome to have to go through a third party to renew our contract. But again, that is an Us Problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The panel quality seems really good and they help you create checks to ensure you get the most for your $ Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It takes forever to buy online and then get a project launched. No less than 5 back and forths to be able to buy the $5k platform online Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy UI, lots of customization of basic questions Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Terrible customer service, shuffled around to different teams and get no responses to questions, inability to do multiple complex survey practices in one survey. No support. We left because of poor customer service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Qualtrics CoreXM offers an intuitive experience for creating and managing surveys and customer feedback. Its powerful analytics tools provide actionable insights, which has customizable templates and easy-to-use dashboards streamline data collection, making it ideal for informed decision-making and customer experience improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A common dislike about Qualtrics CoreXM is its pricing, which can be high for smaller businesses. Additionally, the platform's advanced features may present a steep learning curve for new users, requiring time and effort to fully master its capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
