I've been using Hubstaff for a while now, and overall, I'm genuinely happy with how it works. As someone who needs to keep track of my time and projects efficiently, I've found Hubstaff to be a reliable and straightforward solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I appreciate most is its ease of use. Getting started was simple, and the interface is intuitive. Whether I'm tracking time for different clients or specific tasks within a project, it's just a few clicks, and I can be confident that my hours are being accurately recorded. This has taken a significant burden off my shoulders when it comes to administrative tasks.
The time tracking itself is seamless. The desktop application runs smoothly in the background, and I rarely have to think about it once it's set up. The ability to easily switch between projects is a big plus, especially when juggling multiple responsibilities.
Beyond just tracking time, I find the reporting features really useful. Being able to see a clear breakdown of where my time is spent helps me understand my own productivity patterns and provides valuable data for billing and project management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think one of the best things about Hubstaff is its flexibility and range of features for both remote teams and freelancers. It’s a great tool for time tracking, productivity monitoring, and project management, which can be really helpful when you’re trying to stay on top of multiple tasks or collaborate across different time zones.
The fact that it tracks time automatically, takes screenshots (if enabled), and integrates with so many other tools (like Trello, Slack, Asana, etc.) means it can really streamline workflows. Plus, it has features like GPS tracking for field teams, which is pretty unique. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Can feel invasive: The screenshot and activity tracking can make some people feel like they’re being watched too closely.
Hard to use at first: It has a lot of features, so it can be confusing to get started.
Limited customization: You can’t tweak everything the way you might want, especially with reports.
Can get expensive: The basic plan is cheap, but advanced features cost more.
Sync issues: Sometimes, the data doesn’t update or sync properly with other tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I’ve been using Hubstaff for over 4 years now and it’s been a consistent part of how we manage our remote team. I love how easy it is to track time, check in on productivity, and even pull up reports when needed. The activity rates and screenshot features help keep everyone accountable without being overbearing. It's super helpful especially when working across time zones. One thing that could be better is the mobile app—it’s a little clunky and sometimes slow to load or sync. It’s not a dealbreaker, but when you’re on the go, it’s noticeable. Also, it would be great to have more flexibility in customizing roles and permissions for different users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hubstaff offers a seamless way to track time and monitor team productivity. The ability to take periodic screenshots, track activity levels, and integrate with project management tools like Trello and Asana makes it extremely valuable for remote teams. The dashboard is intuitive, and reporting features are great for both team leads and upper management to evaluate efficiency and workload distribution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At times, the activity tracking can feel overly intrusive, especially with frequent screenshots. The mobile app also tends to lag or crash on occasion, which can interrupt productivity on the go. Additionally, it would be helpful to have more customization options for reporting and more flexible permission settings for different team roles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Very accurate time tracking and very accurate data sync, even in cases of no network or being offline.
2. Reporting capabilities are great and easy to use
3. ability to easily edit and add time stamps is great and offers a lot of versatility Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It tracks a lot of information, which borders on invasion of privacy, and gives the organisation a lot of room for micro-management Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Useful in the browser at the app, detailed and exact info showing me my work pace and rhythm, extremely useful as I work in time-sensitive tasks.
Even though I am currently using only the windows app, I find it very reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Weird complain here, but at times one is working on things where a lot of reading is involved and no movement of mouse or keyboard is needed, and it brings numbers down, but it would be a pesky bug to fix unless it was tracking my eye movements... we're probably not quite there yet Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Ease of use
Employee logs in once and then just start their timer at the start of the day and stop it when they are done for the
day. As simple as that!
- Plug and Play
Send an email invitation to the employee, they accept and install the app, login and they are ready to start tracking
their time.
- Seemless Intergrations
CRM, Communication, Project Management and Payment/Payroll integrations. It takes a few clicks and it's done.
Don't use all of them, but the options that there are, are all great.
- Support and open communication.
Speedy responses to issues and even quarterly meetings with our account manager to see how things are going.
Email updates of future projects and implementations that are not boring auto communications.
- GDPR compliant
Protects the employee's interests and does not exploit any data. No funny business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Invitation Links expire after 7 days, makes sense, but wish it could be longer or auto-send out the invitation again in 7 days time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Time Tracking with Proof of Work. You can track hours with optional screenshots, activity levels, and app/URL usage. It's perfect for remote teams or freelancers who need transparency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Limited Offline Features. If the internet connection drops, Hubstaff can still track time, but some features (like screenshots or syncing) may be delayed or unavailable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
HubStaff is a fantastic tool. The ability to connect to ClickUp (and probably other integrations) is our favorite quality. Other then that, managing a decently sized team (including separation for project leaders and general team members), the reports system, automatic payments, setting budget limits (with notifications), and HubStaff's general work tracking abilities (including ability to add notes on the fly) have all become critical to our business.
Bonus: We've never had a problem installing and using HubStaff's client tool on any of our team's machines, including Linux distributions & Chromebooks Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While it's rare, HubStaff occasionally doesn't sync completely with ClickUp, and you have to sync it manually. Also, I wish we could set different budgets per month for our projects vs a singular monthly budget Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have been using hubstaff for a while now and it has made a significant difference in how we track work hours and manage our remote team. The time tracking feature is good, and the interface is easy to understand for all the team and hierarchy. It helped us to drive team toward efficient development and better tracking.
One of the features we appreciate is the screen shot capture for the activities they are carrying out. This ensures that whatever time has been consumed by the team member is consumed for the right development and no personal activities were included.
There are other appreciable features are like Insights, Task Management, Integrations, Automated Payrolls, Activity Rate, Idle Timeout and etc.
Overall, hubstaff has been a great choice for our business. We highly recommend this tool if you are managing remote team for your organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In terms of functionality we did not find any drawback. While there are other similar products available in the market, the pricing is little higher for the hubstaff as compared to other products which is still bearable at one point. Rest is all good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
