I love the fact that I can chat with my finance admin on Expensify after I submit my expense reports just to offer clarity where need be. I have no need for lengthy emails or calls to explain myself. All I do is File my reports attach receipts, provide clarity notes , submit and just like that i'm done. A very easy process. I have been doing this every month for over one year seamlessly. I have never reached out to Expensify customer support since there is no need to. No glitches, no lags! It is probably my favourite feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My only hope is that they can provide tracking numbers or codes as money moves from my finance admin to my local bank account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I genuinely love this app—both the mobile version and the website. It's super convenient and easy to use. The SmartScan feature is a game-changer! You just snap a picture of your receipt and you're done. You’ll never forget to upload receipts again because it’s all so straightforward. The whole experience is seamless and efficient. I totally recommend this platform to anyone who needs to track expenses effortlessly.

probably there is room for improvement on the SmartScan feature Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It allows me to easily capture receipts, categorize expenses, and submit reports for approval. Expensify solves the problem of manual expense tracking by automating the process, reducing errors, and saving time for both employees and managers. The platform also supports multi-level approvals. One area where Expensify could improve is the receipt functionality. Sometimes, receipts do not upload correctly or fail to attach to the corresponding expense. Additionally, when I create a new expense, it is not always added to the relevant report automatically, which can be confusing and requires extra steps to organize my expenses properly. Improving these features would make the process even more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Expensify is ideal if you're looking for an intuitive, cost-effective, and feature-rich expense management solution with a focus on automation and ease of use. Its comprehensive suite of features makes it suitable for both individuals and businesses of various sizes, and its ability to integrate with other software makes it adaptable to existing workflows. The real-time expense tracking and approval processes can significantly increase efficiency, especially in fast-paced environments.
It stands out for its seamless mobile experience, user-friendly interface, and automation features, which make it an excellent choice compared to many competitors in the expense management space. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some minor areas for improvement — like better offline support, more customizable reporting, and a slightly cleaner interface for first-time users. But overall, it's a reliable and effective tool that meets most business needs exceptionally well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Matching GL accounts to expenses is helpful to simplify for employees coding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Expensify promotes its 24/7 online support as a key feature—but in reality, it’s just a polite chatbot loop with no substance behind it. I've been trying to resolve a bank account verification issue for over 5 days now, and all I’ve received are scripted responses like "I'll pass this on to the team" or "Allow me a moment," repeated endlessly with no progress, no updates, and no timeline.
This isn’t just frustrating—it’s a major disruption to our business operations. If your platform handles financial transactions, your support system must be responsive and capable of escalating issues. Right now, it feels like there’s no real accountability or pathway to resolution.
If you're a business relying on timely verifications and real human support, I'd seriously consider other platforms before committing to Expensify. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Coming from corporate work backgrounds with tedious expense platforms and/or manual excel files, Expensify is so easy to use with it's convenient, integrations and email uploads!
Processes are easy to implement and begin using right away.
I use it for every work trip and/or client outing and have never had a problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I dislike about Expensify is the assumed CAD conversion rates for US charges.
Although this can be changed, I wish there was an option to automate the additional credit card processing charges on top of the general USD -> CAD conversions rate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As someone who's had to wrestle with clunky spreadsheets and outdated expense tracking systems, switching to Expensify was nothing short of a revelation. It’s not just an app—it’s a complete transformation of how you handle expenses, reimbursements, and reports, whether you're a solo entrepreneur or managing a global finance team. While the interface is polished, some new users (especially those not tech-savvy) find the app a bit overwhelming at first. Features like SmartScan, report rules, and approval workflows aren’t always intuitive right out of the box. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We use expensify to keep track of all expenses we make during business trips. I love that the platform has multiple ways to capturing expense from forwarding address, to website to the app. One of my killer features is the ability to take a picture to add expense using the app. I never have to forget adding an expense and that's how easy it is!! I also like that the app highlights potential duplicates if it detects any. Overall, I highly recommend the app! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there was a way to resolve these duplicate without having to merge them though - sometimes I do have multiple expenses on the same day that are exactly the same transaction amount. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the fact that it is very user friendly. The interaction of being able to see each stage of the process from when it's in process, to approved, to when it's expected to be paid out is a really good feature. I like that it allows you to keep track of your expenses by seeing previous expenses made. The platform and features are really good as it's not a whole lot but just enough. Simple but detailed. I haven't experienced any situation where I would not like the platform so far. So far it does what it needs to do for me where I am able to submit and track my expenses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Expensify is powerful and really smart. It has options to read receipts and break down how much the bill and tax for each platform should be.
I use these services at least twice a month. I used to send the receipts to my Gmail inbox, but now Expensify allows me to send the receipts straight to the platform inbox, and it automatically converts my email into a expense report.
I would fully recommend Expensify to anyone that likes keeping their reports tidy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The customisation part of Expensify is a little rigid. Most reports have to follow the same filling structure, but some expenses need more attention than others. An example is, getting a sandwich approved is as much work than expensing a flight, so some customisation to the forms would be ideal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
