The support and friendliness of the people who work there has always been impressive. Whether it is the customer success people, sales/account managers or technical support, the people who you will be working with through implementation or ongoing support are genuinely great. As an L&D Manager in the UK, I am spoiled for choice with products available, so a lot of the time the decisions I make come down to the service and contact. Absorb does this really well. Some of the automatic suggestions for either course imagery and automatic tags can be a bit random, so I tend to not use them. On the course edit page, the icons take a while to get used to so actually lower the admin user experience, and makes it more difficult to train other people on the admin experience. The customer service from Absorb has been nothing short of fantastic. Learning how to use new software can be difficult. Whenever we have hit a snag, the people at Absorb have been quick to respond and have offered us various solutions with use cases for those solutions, allowing us to set our own path. We are still in the implementation process, and the level of support has made us feel like we are in sure hands to make our new LMS very useful for our employees. I am the lead for our company on this project, I looked into 360Learning, LearnUpon, Cornerstone, and many other options. But Absorb had the best features for the best price, namely the content from Absorb Amplify. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Their mobile app could use some additional development to be a bit more user friendly and be more similar to the desktop learner experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Customization of portal and lock and unlock features of courses. Support is prompt in their responses. Additionally, its administrative interface is user friendly and the learner dashboard is colorful and easy to acustom to. Needless to say, the Manager Dashboard is an amazing feature! Some reporting could be more specific to courses and include particular information without having to request additional paid services with Analyze Essentials. While the implementation schedule was neatly defined and organized, more time allowed will make things easier in the long-term. For example, I did not know the impact some features like Self-Enrollment, Auto Enrollment, Certificate printing in each course had until we actually ran with it. We have had to invest additional time to change settings to our close to 2000 eCommerce courses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Absorb has allowed us to reach providers all over the Colorado Springs area and has allowed our providers to access trainings in their own time. The system was very easy to implement for users. It was easy for us to upload our content onto the site for trainings and use pre-existing course content as well. Providers are able to go back into the system and review content even after they have completed the trainings. Customer service worked with us to get everything set up and going and offers trainings on new content often as it becomes available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have not really found anything that we dislike about the system. It does allow us to do in person trainings and online training combinations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The customizable capabilities truly make the product feel unique and part of the company branding. There continues to be a lot of new features that have made the product more engaging and easier to use. As our data shows the amount of use on a weekly basis continues to increase. The support team is also always very prompt to responding. Looking forward to the future of absorb, the shared roadmap looks very promising. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not being able to see where the learners are engaging outside of courses is a bit of a dislike. It would be ideal to track the number of interactions learners have with the billboards. The FAQ and the Collaborations is another dislike that could be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Intuitive UI!
I do really like that you can publish content directly from Absorb Create into the LMS- it's super fast.
The 'impersonate' icon is adorable and intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Absorb Create is very limited. I had high hopes at first, but it's basically PowerPoint.
Unlike Articulate Rise 360, it doesn't allow you to easily drop in interactions without complicated developing time. The way Articulate Rise has easy out-of-the-box interactions (clickable graphic, tabs, etc.) Absorb Create does NOT. They do have 'knowledge tips' you can click on to learn more details, but for some reason, they don't have a 'visited' state - so nobody knows which ones they've already looked at.
The 'create with AI' tool doesn't yield usable results.
The review process drives me (and all my stakeholders) crazy - you have to first designate each individual reviewer with Admin status in the LMS, THEN add them as reviewers in Create for your module.
Then you have to hope and pray that Create auto-sends them an email with their unique review link. This is extremely annoying for many reasons - 1) nobody can see what the other reviewers wrote 2) there isn't a universal link I can share in a single-source-of-truth space (i.e. Slack or Confluence) that points people to review. This means I spend a ton of time individually troubleshooting with reviewers to find these isolated emails that they may or may not have received.
Absorb Create also has a lot of bugs - for example, many of the standard authoring tools (i.e. Text Box creation) don't work properly unless you refresh the page constantly. Absorb Create product folks - feel free to schedule time with me - I have started keep screen recordings of the features that don't work! 🫣 If you can improve these features, you'd have a real winning product on your hands- I love how fast it is to publish directly to the LMS. Absorb is a really good LMS. It is pretty easy to use as an admin. It is easy to organize my modules based on the main topics and categories. We are looking at adding on their content as well. That will be a great addition to our system. Our customer support team has been very responsive when we have questions. I am in the system every day, so it's pretty repetitive to me at this point. The reporting is pretty simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it's not as intuitive as I would like. Also, some of the dynamic features are a pain. For example, if I change a due date or a certificate, it changes it for everyone, no matter their status. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I liked that Absorb gives a user interface that is simple to understand with a lot of customization. I have enjoyed making templates for my department to access resources within Absorb with little difficulty. Whenever I need help, there is always someone from Absorb who is knowledgeable and able to help answer any questions that I may have. Even my Account Manager (Billy Emig), has been phenomenal in assisting with making Absorb a great product for our department. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When it comes to reporting, I feel that my industry (healthcare) has limitations. I have tried getting specific metrics such as timestamps in viewed courses and other important metrics that the Absorb Analyze reporting feature has not been able to produce. Also, the redesign of the course layout limits our users to open up links on the course page. This change has made viewing our recorded lectures hard to maintain focus and engagement with our users. The level of customizable features for building courses is unparalleled, allowing for tailored learning experiences that meet specific needs. Additionally, the reliability within the platform ensures seamless course delivery, consistent performance, and a user-friendly interface that enhances both teaching and learning efficiency. The least beneficial aspect of Absorb LMS for me is the Intelligent Assist feature. While it does have its advantages, I personally don't find myself using it often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are components that have greatly improved from prior LMS-like systems we have used previously. Absorb is easy for users to navigate and is intuitive to the user. The Create function in combination with buying the Amplify content has given us the opportunity to train, develop, and engage multiple roles in our organization. We have an HCM integration with ADP and the automatic and quick flow of information regarding status and job titles has taken care of a lot of what was previously manual work. The reporting functions are also better than previous system, and everyone from admins to managers like having that information.
I also love the addition of the AI tool in Create. It does allow a quicker turnaround on some trainings I have made for our users. I have also receieved feedback that the AI voiceover feature really enhances our trainings that are heavily information slides.
We also have Client Success Manager, Stephanie Berry, who has assisted us since going live with Absorb and has done an excellent job. She is very timely in being responsive and available and will either provide an answer or direct us to the correct place to go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some limitations to reporting specific to our organization. I would also like the HCM integration to continue to improve overtime to sync other pieces of information, such as Reviewer roles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
