What do you like best about UKG Pro?

I like that it is user friendly and well known. When onboarding new employees there is always a sigh of relief when we mention that we use UKG Pro as our HR tool. People are familiar with this product and for us it's easy to implement. I log in everyday to generate reports and look up employee information, the layout makes it super easy to get what I need quickly so that I can get to other tasks. We use UKG Dimensions for timekeeping and the communication between both apps is seamless, as a General Manager I don't have to worry about loading the employee into two different apps, I know that that once I can see my new employee on UKG pro, I just a matter of a few hours I will be able to start timekeeping on Dimensions. Long gone are the days of manual paper timesheets for the first few weeks of employment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UKG Pro?

I used to dislike the number of times I would have to log in. However, with the new UKG Pro update I can now log in quickly using biometrics. On Desktop, I like the option to not have to use my password for a 24hr period. It just makes life easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about UKG Pro?

UKG Pro is one of the most intuitive and user-friendly HR and payroll platforms I've worked with. From day one, the dashboard is clean, easy to navigate, and clearly designed with the end user in mind. Whether you're submitting time off requests, checking your pay stubs, or updating personal information, the process is straightforward and seamless—no need for a manual or IT support just to get started.

What really makes UKG Pro stand out is how it streamlines day-to-day tasks. Managers can approve timecards, view team schedules, and track performance all in one place, which significantly cuts down on administrative hours. Employees appreciate the mobile access too—being able to handle HR tasks on the go has been a huge bonus for our team.

What do you dislike about UKG Pro?

While UKG Pro is efficient overall, one consistent frustration is the short time limit on the verification code during login. The code often expires before you can retrieve and enter it, especially if you're multitasking or experiencing a delay in receiving it via email or text. This creates unnecessary friction during login and can be particularly frustrating during busy work hours. UKG Pro has really simplified my day-to-day. Instead of juggling emails or paperwork for things like PTO or payroll, I can handle it all in one place—fast and with no stress. What do you like best about UKG Pro?

I like the versatility of UKG Pro and the level of dedicated service that the team provides. I feel 100% supported when using this platform and know that any issues I run into will be resolved quickly. It is also easy to use and intuitive so any issues I can resolve myself. The implementation phase is thoroughly planned out and the team ensures you feel supported and have the required knowledge to succeed once the system is integrated. What do you dislike about UKG Pro?

What problems is UKG Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?

UKG Pro has a significantly more robust reporting system than our previous provider which allows us a lot more insight. We are able to notify our staff through the UKG app so have replaced using a third party services for this. What do you like best about UKG Pro?

One of the things I like best about UKG Pro is its Pending Pay, Prorated Pay, and Retro Pay features. These tools are extremely helpful in managing complex payroll scenarios with efficiency and accuracy.

The Pending Pay feature allows us to schedule future payments or make one-time adjustments without needing to process them immediately, helping with planning and approvals.

Prorated Pay simplifies compensation for partial pay periods due to new hires, terminations, or salary changes, reducing manual calculations and potential errors.

The Retro Pay functionality is especially useful for correcting prior period adjustments, ensuring employees are paid correctly without needing off-cycle runs.

What do you dislike about UKG Pro?

While UKG Pro offers many valuable features, there are a couple of areas that could be improved:

The Business Intelligence (BI) reporting feature could be more user-friendly. Although it's powerful, the interface and report-building process can be complex and sometimes not intuitive, especially for users who aren't technically inclined.

Payment Services could benefit from updates and streamlining. The current processes can feel outdated and sometimes create delays or require extra steps that could be automated or simplified.

One of the major benefits of UKG Pro is that it allows us to process payroll for both the U.S. and Canada within a single, unified system. This integration simplifies our workflow, ensures consistency, and reduces the need to toggle between multiple platforms.

Additionally, UKG Pro serves as our HR system of record, housing all employee data in one centralized location. This improves data accuracy, streamlines reporting, and enhances collaboration between HR, payroll, and benefits teams. What do you like best about UKG Pro?

I appreciate how easy it is to navigate and how visually user-friendly the platform is for employees. Additionally, the customer support team is exceptionally responsive and helpful. They provided clear, detailed guidance to resolve an issue I encountered—with a remarkably fast turnaround time.

What do you dislike about UKG Pro?

The UKG Community platform can feel a bit overwhelming when trying to locate specific information, especially for new or infrequent users. Additionally, I believe the Leave of Absence module could benefit from more robust reporting features—particularly the ability to clearly identify the specialist handling each leave case, rather than relying solely on case notes for that information.

It would also be incredibly helpful to have a dedicated module for managing ADA accommodation requests. Given the significant increase in these cases since the pandemic, having a structured and centralized space to manage accommodations would improve efficiency and tracking. What problems is UKG Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?

UKG has significantly improved our leave of absence process by eliminating the need for external spreadsheets and allowing for seamless case management directly within the platform. The ability to easily edit leave cases and link them to employee timecards provides helpful transparency, especially when confirming with employees how their paid time off is being applied during leave.

What do you dislike about UKG Pro?

Their support resources were once great, but have taken a steep decline in quality in the last 4-6 months. Their quality of support (timeliness and knowledgeable staff) was definitely enough to make up for the clunky platform, so now without that it's very difficult to find silver linings. What problems is UKG Pro solving and how is that benefiting you?

We do have just about everything in one place, which is certainly the goal for us. UKG's compliance resources are pretty solid. When their support is working the way it should, it is pretty excellent. It's just not working right now for us.

We initially chose UKG Pro over other providers largely because of their excellent customer support. For the first year, they lived up to that promise; support was responsive, knowledgeable, and accessible. Unfortunately, that experience has changed drastically in the last 4–6 months.

Following what appears to be a restructuring of their support department(s), the quality and responsiveness have plummeted. Tickets now regularly go unanswered for weeks, sometimes months, and there is virtually no viable path for escalation. The support model has shifted away from real-time solutions; whereas we used to be able to speak with someone directly, we’re now stuck in a cycle of sending messages that go ignored or are simply forwarded to specialists who don’t reply.

This is incredibly frustrating, especially because we made our vendor decision based on the strength of their support. Without that, UKG Pro simply doesn’t stand out. The platform itself feels outdated and clunky in several areas, lacking the modern UX and flexibility of other HRIS systems. While compliance features still meet expectations, the usability and responsiveness of the system have significantly declined.

If UKG does not make meaningful changes to restore the quality of their support and modernize their platform, we’ll likely be reevaluating our partnership. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about UKG Pro?

What I like about UKG Pro is the ease of use. I use UKG Pro daily as I am the admin of it for my company. Once you get yourself familiar with the layout and functionality it flows pretty smoothly. The effective dating is nice especially when it comes to payroll. There are times where it can be confusing, but I know it all depends on when the payroll dates fall into place. Another thing I like is the support we receive when issues come across. UKG is very efficient and responsive when it comes to case ticket issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about UKG Pro?

What I dislike about UKG Pro is that there is limited access to a lot of things within the set up of certain functions. The business rules is a good example. There are times where I have to go in and check on earning codes and the access within the code set up itself is limited. I'm sure it's that way for a reason, but more functionality would be nice. Sometimes the effective dating is confusing as well, but that is nothing really. Another thing that I dislike is the functionality of the retroactive pay. That does not work as intended and it is very annoying. If a wage increase is to be implemented 1/2 way through the pay period, it will cover the entire pay period and not the actual day it started. What do you like best about UKG Pro?

So simple to use. Even when doing something for the first time everything is in steps, so it is easy to learn and do at the same time.
