The system is easy to navigate and I am able to download the reports that I need. Annually, when we send 1099s to our domestic video owner licensees and 1042s to our international video owner licensees I am able to effectively gather the data that we need to send to licensees and to report to the IRS for tax purposes. Tipalti is easy for vendors to set up and maintain their portals. The sync with QBO is virtually flawless. I also appreciate the multi levels of approvals. The biggest issue I had was with a US vendor accidentally getting paid with Myanmar currency. I have absolutely no idea how this happened as I have it in the settings to default to USD. It took Tipalti a couple of weeks to get the money back from the vendor's account and then I had to reissue payment. My vendor was not happy.
I would also like the option of requesting that vendors resubmit their W-9's annually. When they create their portal is the only time I can get a W-9 from them and we have a policy that we need new W-9's from vendors each year.
I do wish the timing of pushing invoices through the approval process was instantaneous, but there is a lag of typically 5-30 seconds. Occasionally, it has been a couple minutes. I'm sure this can't be helped though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
With daily use and familiarity with the functionality, it becomes easy to process bills quickly and efficiently. The more you learn and know about Tipalti, the more you can apply your needs, policies, and other best practices to ensure a secure process. The available tools and resources are great. As a primary coder of invoices, I find using Tipalti very easy. The UX/UI of this software is great and works smoothly. We are using the 3-way match, and once we moved to API integration between Tipalti and SAP B1, I cannot complain about the accuracy. All basic features you should expect from AP software are available, and they cover most of our needs. While I was not part of the implementation process, the transition to API integration between Tipalti and SAP B1 has been smooth. Vendors onboarding with Tipalti do not complain, and the communication Tipalti sends out is very helpful, especially once payments are submitted. The overall use of Tipalti is what we enjoy the best. Automating our AP has streamlined so many parts of our day to day. Since implementing we have taken on more products and services. Having worked with a few payout providers, the key trait that stands out to me is Tipalti's unwavering commitment to helping their customers. I receive quick responses from their basic support team, and for more escalated matters, my appointed account manager, and sometimes even the CEO (!) have jumped into a discussion with me. Working in tech, I expect problems to happen from time to time. But the speed at which the entire Tipalti team works to provide answers and clear solutions makes all the difference. It's a horrible customer experience when you're trying to work with your payout provider and they seem disconnected and disingenuous to provide a solution. Tipalti is the opposite of that. I feel like they invest in our company, and they receive my customer loyalty in return.
I think Tipalti is also pretty easy to use once you get the hang of the internal vernacular and formatting, unlike with some programs that still don't feel very instinctual after learning the basics. There are some more complex payout rules I'd like to incorporate into our payout routine which is not yet possible. In a perfect world Tipalti could do pay-ins and payouts, so I wouldn't need another PSP for this, but maybe one day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Tipalti automates a lot of our procure to pay workflow. Previously our accounts payable team spent a lot of time coding invoices and chasing approvals. Tipalti enables us to control spend with clear approval flows, while also reducing speeding up bill processing, which means quicker payments for our suppliers. Tipalti's Supplier Hub also reduces queries from suppliers as they can easily view the status of a bill or payment. Since procurement and accounts payable are two separate modules, there is sometimes a lack of cohesiveness between the two, as they must be administered seperately. I would also like a more streamlined way to reconcile Tipalti wallets - it would be great if Tipalti could leverage its ERP integrations and provide a direct bank feed for bank reconciliations. Our vendors truly like the supplier portal for tracking their invoices, but also for the ability to update their information. The portal has also reduced email traffic by allowing vendors to update their own information. Our approvers also enjoy the more streamlined process Tipalti offers in contrast to an older outdated process followed before we moved to Tipalti. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The recent new screen implementation in the AP Hub was terrible when it was first deployed. The custom fields would routinely time out and seems like the flow slowed tremendously. It is a great tool, but it does have a few drawbacks. There’s a bit of a learning curve for new users, and customization options are somewhat limited.
