The reason I chose Talkwalker was because it offers the key metrics such as no. of Buzz, Potential Reach, Engagement and Sentiments for all social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, unlike any other social media monitoring tool. We can of course then plot all these metrics against topics, themes, sources, channels, custom filters, demographics, geographic, devices, etc.
There are some features of Talkwalker which I find extremely useful
1. Search queries: I believe there are nearly 100 search query syntaxes that help us to slice and dice the data almost like how we want. I have used almost all, and they all are useful.
2. Custom Filters: We can use all the search queries to form custom filters. This help us to fetch the data which is already there in our main monitor (no need to create new monitor) and then plot all the metrics against the filter.
3. Smart themes: they've recently introduced this feature, and I am fond of it. With this feature, you can see the breakdown the result and metrics by People, emotions, brands/companies, and event without even setting a search query. There’s not great accuracy in it yet, but you get the view of who are the key people and brands mentioned in the buzz.
4. Devices: This is also a new feature they have introduced. With this, you can plot the results and metrics by mobile, tablet, desktop and bots. (really helpful).
5. Content type: You can also plot buzz by content types such as pictures, videos, links, and text. They have this inbuilt in the tool, and also you can get this data by building a query.
6. Channel analytics: this is really good, it offers all necessary metrics about channels you have set. You can set channels for all social media platforms.
7. I like the fact that they are constantly evolving and come up with new features time to time which are truly useful for their clients.
8. Their support team is extremely supportive. You don't have to wait for their response and solution for hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are few things I think Talkwalker needs to improve
1. Sentiment analysis: they need work on sentiment analysis by adapting new technologies and ditching old school analysis methods.
2. Data sources: Talkwalker does not offer data from Forums sites and Tumblr. For this, you need to feed external links.
3. They also need to work on accuracy in geographic and demographic data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Talkwalker has the ability to full customize your search terms while looking at sentiment, geographic locations, and media types. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the downsides of the version I use is that you can only search conversations from the last 30 days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the layout of Talkwalker and how it pulls both traditional and social well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its operator can be weak and it gets annoying to have to backfill. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ability to use Boolean logic and easily create and export topics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a limit to the number of mentions of topics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have been using Talkwalker for more than 3 years now. I like the depth the tool can go into bringing results. Even when a nano influencer or small media website mentions your brand, Talkwalker's web crawlers don't disappoint you and show you the results. In almost real-time.
The email alerts are a huge time saver too. I don't bother signing in unless it is necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing matters for time being. They redesign their dashboard and website recently and that's cool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to set up an account. That's it. Yep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Trapped. Easy to set up, impossible to get away from it. Ugh, you can't delete your account without going through a 3rd party request, which still hasn't worked. Users can't delete accounts in settings, zero ability to control your account. Results include every job posting on the planet. In other words, if you want an alert for ICH Q9, instead of getting information on ICH Q9, you get every single job posting that lists ICHQ9 as part of the job, which =every quality professional on earth. Talkwalker does a great job of monitoring the web and tracking your brand's presence. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a pretty expensive solution, not a great option for a business with a small budget. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Talkwalker has some of the best visualizations of any social listening tool, as well as dashboard creation and curation. In recent years, Talkwalker's updates have improved and expanded on these visualizations to tell a compelling story about trending topics and sentiment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Talkwalker isn't without its glitches. Tagging in Talkwalker can be slow to update, without notifications when tagging is complete, and delays in updating new tags to the filters section. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The thing I like the most is Talkwalker's free search feature, that allows you to get quick insights from large sets of social data without having to pay the large sums that social listening tools usually cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having used other social monitoring tools like Brandwatch, Crimson Hexagon and Mention, I think that Talkwalker it's pretty similar to other tools and suffers from similar faults, like a steep learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Analytics-focused abilities. They took real care to provide meaningful ways of presenting the data that's available on social.
Robust visualization and drilldown capabilities make it easy to share the data to stakeholders internally and externally. Many visualizations are available for each widget, with thoughtful options such as applying log scaling to the data in cases of erratic charts. All of the visualization widgets are interactive and allow you to drilldown on sentiments and topics.
Dashboards are enjoyable to create and share, allowing for browser access. Report generation into PDF and Powerpoint formats are also appreciated.
Managing data and topics are also easy, there's a consistent query syntax that's used throughout the platform and can easily be used.
Documentation is also extensive in their help guides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can still be rough around the edges. Some error messages are difficult to decode, but client success managers are very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
