Great partnership with Lauren Staley in customizing Performyard to reflect SERA's collaborative culture! The tool is very flexible to allow for unique forms, customized workflows and innovative features to enable continuous, real-time feedback. The goal feature is another positive! The graphic display showing goal progress, the daily reminders and the built-in visibility to studio leaders/managers will help keep us accountable and delivering on commitments. The easy navigation and visually pleasing portal of Performyard align well with our design-focused culture! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Currently, Performyard was no ability to customize notifications. Having the ability to tell a staff member who they have been selected for a 360/Peer review or whose review is due would be a nice add Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One of the most appreciated aspects of PerformYard Performance Management is its flexibility and customizability. Unlike rigid performance systems, PerformYard lets organizations tailor review cycles, goal-setting methods, and feedback structures to match their specific culture and workflow.
1. Other frequently cited strengths include:
2. User-friendly interface – it's intuitive for both employees and managers.
3. Streamlined performance reviews – automates the process, reducing admin time.
4. Continuous feedback tools – supports real-time feedback, not just annual reviews.
5. Robust reporting and analytics – helps HR teams track performance trends and make data-driven decisions.
6. Integration options – it works well with other HR software, keeping everything connected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Limited integrations - while it integrates with some HR tools, it's not as extensive as platforms like Workday or BambooHR.
2. Reporting Complexity - The reporting features are powerful, but some users find the setup and customization unintuitive or time-consuming.
3. Learning curve for setup - Initial configuration can be complex, especially for teams without a dedicated HR tech admin.
4. Limited mobile functionality - The mobile experience is more limited compared to the desktop version, which is a drawback for teams which are constantly shuffling between multiple worksites.
5. No built-in compensation planning - Unlike some competitors, PerformYard doesn't include features for linking performances to compensation with the same platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best part of PerformYard is the people behind the scenes. Everyone we have talked to at PerformYard after purchasing the product has been extremely professional, helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly! I love that we can offer suggestions for system improvements and they are always taken into account and many times put into production as an enhancement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think there is still some room for growth in functionality. Some things are a bit limiting but there are typically workarounds for anything that doesn't function the way you would need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Onboarding professional was accommodating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am profoundly disappointed with PerformYard, particularly in their renewal process, which I found to be misleading and deceitful. The sales team was not transparent about the renewal terms, and as a result, I unknowingly ended up locked into a three-year contract. When I reached out to address this issue, I provided documentation clearly showing how the renewal was misleading, yet upper management refused to entertain any discussion about ending the term early. Their lack of flexibility and unwillingness to even acknowledge my concerns speaks volumes about their approach to customer service.
Beyond the renewal issue, the platform itself is not as user-friendly as advertised and is not well-suited for small businesses that simply want to conduct annual reviews and basic performance plans. The system is unnecessarily complex—something as straightforward as one-on-one counseling requires creating templates, assigning templates, and then starting templates instead of just having a simple option for direct documentation.
If you are a small business looking for a streamlined performance management tool, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. PerformYard’s aggressive renewal tactics, lack of transparency, and cumbersome user experience make it a poor choice. I regret signing up and hope this review helps others avoid making the same mistake. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like PerformYard because it is plain and simple to use. The management schedules a task and I get a timely notification with clear information on when and how I can accomplish it. Then once submitted there is a simple way to see where it is within the approval or signatures. It is also secure as always requires secure sign-in so the data remains private. I use it reguraly.
I would reccomend it to any size organization with a dedicated HR team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I disliked the fact it has no app to follow-up on tastks. It could be a useful addition. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
PerformYard is visually appealing, customizable, and user friendly. This was also the easiest and most convenient implementation experience for any platform I've implemented. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the only flaw that I've experienced is the goal setting workflow. When you assign a form employees still have access to the goals tab. I experienced a lot of employees going to the goals tab to enter the goals and not the workflow goals form. That creates duplicate work and goals that then need to be archived. It is wonderful if an employee follows the training and workflow, but there are some that just dive in and go straight for the goals tab. If you get this sorted the system will be flawless. I like how user-friendly PerformYard is! It’s a great tool for keeping all employee information, evaluations, 360 evaluations, goals, and more in one place. It has made internal and team evaluations so much easier without the hassle of figuring out complex processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wouldn’t say it’s a dislike, but PerformYard does require some time and training to fully understand how to use it effectively. However, the time invested is nothing compared to how much time it saves versus doing everything manually. One feature I’d love to see added is a built-in view document storage system where employee files can be uploaded and accessed directly within PerformYard, without relying on external platforms like Google Drive. I love that PerformYard is streamlining our performance management throughout our company. We have gone from spreadsheets and constant emails to a consistent process where everyone knows the expectations. The system is easy to use, extremely customizable and convenient. It will really help elevate us to the next level from an associate development standpoint Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The system could be easier to manage. I am still learning the system, but SO MANY clicks to set up reviews in the queue. That is my only gripe Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
PerformYard has so many capabilities and it's super user friendly! The implementation and the customer service has been above and beyond what we expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the downsides of PerformYard is that all users (employees) need to have an email to get a login for the system. We have a lot of blue collar manufacturing workers that don't even have an email address. We also don't have a lot of emplyoees that have work emails, so everyone has to use their personal email for this. It would be nice if they could have a login using a phone number or something else.
It would also be nice if reviews could automatically launch based on hire date instead of manually adding employees to a group and then launching the review each month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
PerformYard is highly user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy to navigate and manage performance reviews. The centralized platform allows all performance management tasks to be streamlined in one place, which enhances productivity and organization. Its flexibility to customize forms and review processes ensures that it meets the specific needs of the organization. Additionally, the ability to provide feedback and track goals directly within the platform fosters accountability and continuous improvement.
Huge shoutout to Liz Triris. She has been instrumental in the implementation of this platform. Her attention to details and follow through is top notch. Her support and coaching has made the integration of PerformYard as easy for us as possible. Thank you Liz, for all that you do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While the platform has many strengths, there are some areas for improvement. I wish organizations could customize dashboards even more to fit their specific needs and workflows. There could also be a more robust way to view and edit forms, making it easier to manage performance data effectively. Additionally, certain terms like 'Author' and other pre-set verbiage are not applicable to our organization, which can lead to confusion. Greater flexibility in customizing language throughout the platform would make it more user-friendly and aligned with our processes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is user friendly. I can track my own growth and goals while providing a structured way to track and measure my development over time. We try to utilize it quarterly at minimum. Any time I accomplish something I can add it to my list, and it is transparent for my mentor as well when we have check-ins. It enables continuous feedback and encourages regular check-ins and real-time feedback rather than relying on annual reviews - this has been very beneficial for our mentoring program. Potential for Micromanagement – If not used correctly, it can feel like constant surveillance rather than a tool for growth.
Lack of Context – Numbers and data don’t always tell the full story of someone’s performance, leaving room for misinterpretation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
