Marketo does a lot. That’s a plus and that’s the point. With one solution you can launch and track performance across your landing pages, email campaigns, lead nurturing campaigns, etc. In addition, it plays well with Salesforce and has a great support community. As I said above, Marketo does a lot. That doesn’t mean it does everything well. I found the landing page creation tools to be too cumbersome and far less intuitive than solutions like Unbounce. Also, the email solutions are good, but the solution is not nearly as friendly as a solution like MailChimp.
That’s the kicker. It does a lot, but there are individual tools that do each piece better. The problem is they often don’t work together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Marketo is a feature-rich tool that really shines when it comes to automation and lead nurturing. I mostly use it almost daily work life and once you're familiar with it, it becomes a easy and simple platform for managing complex campaigns with ease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest challenge is the learning curve. It’s not the easiest platform to get started with, especially for new users. The setup and implementation take time, and the interface isn’t very intuitive. Sometimes, even basic tasks require multiple steps.
Customer support is sometimes not so fast and its a long waiting time and can be slow to respond, and customizing reports feels more limited than it should be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It makes it easy for me to design campaigns and is easy to use and segment. It is the best in the work sense and especially in the academic sense. Something I really like is the advanced segmentation and personalization capability, which allows for creating very targeted and effective experiences for each type of client. We can easily create an email page and a landing page, download a report of email campaign performance, and update a smart list and flow in the program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes, while creating a page or updating campaigns, the Marketo tool will ask to refresh the page. Because of refreshing, we sometimes have to rework that. Please provide the drag-and-drop modules feature for landing pages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The automations. Saves me a lot of time and I like to be able to automate boring tasks. By automatic by my work I can know that the repetitive tasks I need to do will get done. This enables me to focus on the larger picture with more strategic thinking and planning. Once I have my automations set up I can work on higher level things with confidence. I honestly can’t think of anything that was that bad. I guess the AI tools always didn’t work exactly how I wanted them to. But there wasn’t many downsides that I can think of with using the software. My company used it for awhile on several different initiatives and I don’t remember having any problems. Marketo offers robust automation features, detailed campaign tracking, and seamless integration with CRMs like Salesforce. The segmentation and lead scoring capabilities are especially useful for targeted B2B marketing. Once set up, the workflows save significant time and improve engagement. The user interface feels outdated and unintuitive, especially for beginners. Setting up complex campaigns requires a steep learning curve, and documentation isn’t always clear. Also, the pricing is on the higher end compared to competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the robustness and flexibility it offers for marketing automation. The advanced segmentation, campaign personalization, and integration with other Adobe tools and CRMs like Salesforce make it very powerful. Additionally, the detailed analytics help measure performance and optimize strategies in real time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface can feel a bit outdated and not as intuitive as other platforms. Also, the learning curve is high, so it requires quite a bit of time to get the most out of it. Additionally, the support could be faster and more efficient in resolving technical issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Adobe Marketo brings a lot to the table when it comes to marketing automation. It helps take care of repetitive tasks like email campaigns, lead nurturing, and customer segmentation, making it easier to engage the right people at the right time. One of its biggest strengths is how well it manages leads—tracking engagement, scoring potential customers, and helping sales teams focus on the most valuable opportunities. Plus, its ability to personalize marketing efforts through dynamic content and customer journey mapping ensures that messaging feels relevant rather than generic.
Another major upside is how seamlessly Marketo integrates with tools like Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, and other Adobe products like Experience Manager and Analytics. This makes it easier to connect the dots across different marketing efforts and keep everything running smoothly. It also supports multi-channel marketing, so whether it’s email, social media, mobile, or paid ads, everything can be managed from one place. On top of that, Marketo’s AI-powered insights and predictive analytics help fine-tune strategies by offering real-time recommendations and A/B testing to see what’s working best.
Marketo is also built to scale, making it a great fit for businesses of all sizes. As marketing needs grow, the platform can grow with them. And with strong data security and compliance with regulations like GDPR and CCPA, businesses can feel confident about privacy and protection. Overall, Marketo stands out for its ability to automate, personalize, and optimize marketing efforts, making life easier for marketers while delivering better results. One of the biggest drawbacks is its steep learning curve—the platform isn’t the most intuitive, and new users often require significant training to get up to speed. The interface can feel a bit outdated and clunky, making simple tasks more time-consuming than they should be. Additionally, setting up campaigns, workflows, and reports can be complex, sometimes requiring more manual effort than expected.
Another downside is cost. Marketo tends to be more expensive than other marketing automation platforms, especially for small to mid-sized businesses. On top of the high subscription fees, certain advanced features and integrations come at an extra cost, which can add up quickly. Given the price, many users expect more built-in functionality and a smoother user experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
