Google Drive has come a long way since its first release in 2012. It’s now an established part of Google’s suite of productivity tools, and it has many more features than when it was first launched. But before we explore the positives and negatives of Google Drive, let’s take a look at its history so you can better understand how the program has changed over time.
Google Drive is a cloud-based storage solution that offers users 15GB of free storage. It's a great way to keep your files backed up and accessible from anywhere. The interface is user-friendly and easy to navigate. Plus, you can share files with others easily. If you need more space for your work or personal life, it only costs $1.99 per month for 100 GB or $9.99 per month for 1TB. However, there are some disadvantages too. One thing I don't like about Google Drive is that you have to pay for additional storage if you're not satisfied with the 15GB of free space. Another disadvantage is that sometimes people can't access their files on Google Drive because they are being blocked by the firewall or browser settings on their computer. That's why it's always good to back up your data periodically just in case something happens to them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Google Drive has a lot of features, there are some cons. One is that it can be difficult to use if you're not familiar with Google's other products. Another is that it doesn't have as many features as some of the other options out there. Additionally, it can be slow at times and isn't always reliable. Finally, the customer service isn't always great. Overall, while there are some good things about Google Drive, there are also some negatives that should be considered before using it. It may not be for everyone. But for those who like to live in the world of Google, this could be the perfect option. The free storage space makes it appealing for people on a budget or students who don't want to pay for additional storage. And, because it integrates with all of Google's products and services, your data will always be backed up across devices and platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
All the features of Google Drive are good and work as you expect them to do.
What i love is that you can access the files on the drive directly and edit them using google docs, sheets or other software and save them on spot without having to download any extra software to do so.
You can also share any file you have on your drive with others via a link to download it or they can even edit/modify the file on the cloud itself if you give them permission to do so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Google Drive allow users to host their file in the cloud. What I like best about Google Drive is that files that are host on the platform, the owner can select whom to share it with. Files can be shared to a specific group of user by sending them invitation link to the file, or everyone (who has the shared link). Google Drive is also easy to use, it features a drag and drop. By just opening Google Drive, users can drag the files that they want to store to the open Google Drive windows. Kaboom, your file is now hosted online! Currently, you can now use Google Drive with many domains unlike in the past where it can only be used with Google email domain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Google Drive allows you to only store up to 15GB of data for free. Even though this is way larger than iCloud at 5GB, today, as of 2021, 15GB is nothing. If you want to share a game or movie to your friend, it will already consumed like 5GB for movie and 10GB or more for games. Other than storing small files, 15GB is definitely not enough. Google is basically saying that if you want to use Google Drive practically, you have to pay more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Google Drive is a complete cloud solution, it not only provides cloud storage, but it also provides an online office suite compacted to Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Forms. With every Gmail account, you'll get 15GB of Google Drive and if you are under Google Workspace you'll get 30GB of storage for their Business Starter or 2TB for their Business Standard Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I mainly hate about Google Drive is how it saves a file on my "Shared with me" folder every time I clicked a link that is hosted in Google Drive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that everyone has a google account, therefore I am able to share media on my google drive with anyone, without having tot make them jump through hoops such as downloading any additional apps or creating new accounts Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I find it to be a little confusing, and I often share with people via google drive who end up being unable to access it at first for some reason or another, which then delays the person receiving a file and making me take a few extra steps. It could be more seamless Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about google drive is that all my files are all in one place! Since I am a teacher, I am constantly creating documents for my students and myself. Being able to quickly and easily access them is a life-saver. Just this year, I noticed that Google Drive had the feature of workspaces, so my frequently used google documents (sheets, slides, doc, etc.) are accessible without me having to search for them. Google Drive also makes it super easy to upload files from other platforms, which is also essential! In addition, Google Drive allows me to group files in digital file folders for future access! In addition to all of the features I have mentioned above, google drive allows you to create documents that are equivalent to the Microsoft Suite products. I frequently create doc, slides, sheets, and google forms. Google Drive is really a one stop shop for all your teaching or business needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is not much I do not like about Google Drive. If I had to nit-pick, I wish there was a more efficient way to delete old or unneeded files quicker. I am not a fan of clutter, so sometimes I see all the files from past years and students that I no longer need or find helpful, and I want to remove them. It takes some time to delete files from Google Drive. Another aspect of Google Drive that could be improved is broadening the search criteria for searching for files. For example, often times I do not remember the exact wording or title of a document but will search for keywords. Sometimes those keywords do not yield a search or document.
