Gooddata works with hardly any downtime incidents. They have a great support team and respond very quickly to any questions. We are able to easily manage all parts of the semantic layer, the data model, visualisation objects both through UI and API. We have used GD for many years and although the system is very stable, it lacks some features you may expect from a moderm BI tool. The UI is not up to par with competitors and AI features are not yet refined. There is a steep learning curve for writing metrics due to a non-straight-forward query language (MAQL) - making it difficult to deliver self-service analytics. I love the integration we were able to build with GD. It lets our customers make custom reports with a much lower learning curve and more flexibility than our previous solution. I especially like that as a user selects data fields, unrelated fields are automatically hidden. This is a nice guard rail to help end users avoid making mistakes.

GoodData is good at structuring information and making it more useful for tracking the progress of business over time. Rather than depending on disjointed sources, it helps to bring things together to highlight the critical trends. Maybe the thing that I find valuable, is being able to see inconsistencies early, by comparing past with current performance. This also removes the burden of having to iterate over the updates to find the latest, which saves a tremendous amount of time and leaves little to no stress around monitoring the updates. A drawback to GoodData is that it is a slow process to adapt it to particular business needs. Though the platform is very flexible, being able to change things is dependent upon the familiarity that gets very little. Some features require technical knowledge to modify and you have to rely on specialists for adjustments. Running our apps on spreadsheets and filling data by hand caused major problems for us. Maintaining correct data became our biggest problem before GoodData. New users encounter a relatively challenging process when learning to use GoodData. Our group needed additional time to feel at ease implementing all functionalities of GoodData. The current platform appearance sometimes betrays its need for a contemporary design update. The platform has an interface design which appears out of date relative to other modern tools we employ. The platform provides restricted possibilities for integration with other systems. It is a very precise tool, it provides options to perform data analysis using different types of graphs.
