I've been working with different CRM packages for over 10 years now and I have to say GoldMine is a great "starter home" type of package. I use that analogy as everyone has their own preferences in what they need and what they're ready to spend money on. Goldmine is a very cost efficient compared to the leading cloud based software packages (per monthly charges) but most importantly, low cost to start out. GoldMine can be installed, trained, and in use in less than a day for most small businesses, where you can grow into the other features as you use it. For those starting out, GoldMine is great to start activity tracking, basic opportunity management, and in recent years service management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Now, being that we're talking about a Client/Server based software, the hardest part about GoldMine to swallow is the lack of mobility. Yes, there are add-ons (both 3rd party and provided by the makers) but at an added cost. As a GoldMine consultant, the largest complaint need that I hear that is not provided out of the box is the ability to use on the phone, remotely, etc. Sync just isn't an option in today's technology capabilities. Also, GoldMine is missing a Lead>Prospect/Customer conversion piece. This is the double edged sword as it's ease of use, but it can crowd the list of contacts. As I said above, with any home you can grow out of it or just start out needing a larger home (in this case CRM). For most small to medium sized businesses GoldMine is a great CRM to start out in and cut your teeth so to speak. Some stay with it forever, some will eventually grow out of it. I liked that it kept all of our contacts in one place, and had stellar reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Could be difficult to use, and often times we found that duplicate leads were put into the system, and there was not an wasy way to ID this issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a perfect platform to track the business's financial and sales progress. It is awesome and easy to use. The filters and the contact list it maintain is really good tool in it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its integration is literally complex and customer support is also not fast in my case. features need to be updated Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It provides the feature to track and manage the sales pipeline. It provides the feature to schedule and track the task and appointments. It provides the feature of email marketing which helps to manage email for clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The customization option it provides is challenging and complex. It also creates difficulty to integrate with the existing system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Goldmine is an incredibly snappy and easily understood piece of software. It provides essential information for a prospect's contact details, such as name, email, phone number, etc. It allows users, such as a recruiter like myself, to very easily create leads based on a prospect's information, schedule calls for them at any point in time, take notes based on our interactions, and easily save and organize that data for future use. Goldmine is extremely functional, which makes sense given its age and number of updates. Its autosave function is extremely useful, especially when comparing it to other CRMs such as SugarSell, which are far newer and yet lack this basic, quality of life feature. Goldmine is hardly flashy, but its user interface is extremely simple to understand, quick to load and function, and more than functional for categorizing data on prospects. This is extremely vital for anyone working in sales, or recruiting like me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Goldmine is not web-based, so it can go down and be completely inaccessible even if your internet connection is completely stable. Additionally, while the software itself is snappy, the initial loading process when opening it can take around a minute or so. However, the pros far outweigh the cons with Goldmine. What I like best about Goldmine is that I was able to maintain customer records in one central place. I was able to pull up orders with ease and send invoices quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The least helpful thing about Goldmine is that you are unable to set it up on your own without someone who has used it before or is familiar with the technology. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Could have been a great CRM, but there is a lack of updates, so it cannot compete with the new CRMs. The e-mail history and filter creation tools are great, but not intuitive, so it's a learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is not intuitive or user-friendly. No software updates EVER. Poor workflow and no collaboration features, or pipeline features that would make workflow more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how I can set reminders to follow up with my prospects in the headset business. I also like that I can keep company details and notes to follow up with the right information quickly. I USE THIS TOLL DAILY, AND IT HELPS ME TO KEEP ORGANIZED! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no complaints about the service it's great. I do wish it was harder for my co-workers to switch the leads to them. I think they should note when someone changes the lead, so everyone can see it was changed to new rep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It was an easy-to-use customer relationship management tool. I kept the contact information in place initially and saw a feature to add comments after the completion of lead follow-up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I used it for a short while as the company outsourced the CRM installation, and I received training to use it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
