
It was built for manufacturers and every module is made to support just that. Some programs are great and help but their file system database creates an overwhelming amount of program links! It's very customizable, and they have a custom program portal called ARC where if any customer paid for a custom solution to be made, they make it available to all their customers via ARC for free! Company is in transition right now. The program was made in 1976 and COBAL was used as the programming language. It's not a relational database system but uses Pervasive/Actian Zen with Betrieve API. The consultants work for Global Shop only as they don't use resellers. I believed this was a strength at first but then it has flaws! The ops consultants that were sent to us onsite during implementation know the COBOL based programs very well. But the company is recoding their modules and programs eliminating COBOL and using .net.
Update: this has largely been completed and the entire program is better and feels more updated!
You can choose when opening programs if you want to use the old or new program, most consultants taught us the old ones as they didn't know how to use the new ones, which offer way more features!
When needing some help or learning with the program, they use VT's that you can purchase for $200/hr if you buy them in packs of 10 hours, otherwise it's $250/hr. You need to request an expert for your issue or you may not get one!
We use the cloud solution. They offered on premise and cloud. Cloud means they host the software on an AWS server and you access it via a remote app. They are improving the program all the time! We have been live since June 2022 and it took a solid 2 years to iron out the kinks. Implementing an ERP program in general is a very intense and laborious process. The good news, we are successfully using the software now and it has improved our operations and allowed for our management team to better collaborate under 1 software umbrella. Beware, unless you hire an implementation team of 5 plus people, rolling any ERP project out in full takes years. Getting all staff to adopt and use the software and change their old habits and methods is by far the hardest challenge to overcome. I am so thankful we are through the 2 year startup phase! The ease and convenience of the dashboards, I use the open sales order dashboard every single day. I also like that you can personalize your user menu to easily find the things that you use every day. I also like the recent update done to the CRM module, it's much more user friendly. Where do I start. The operating system is very slow and takes a long time to load. Each screen requires several clicks just to process a set of information. To complete a new quote will take you a minimum of 3-5minutes to complete as there is way to much information and clicks to go through. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
