Super easy to use, great templates and amazing tracking and analytics on your marketing projects! I love the landing page options, for my temporary pages and event marketing. There are so many ways to capture people based on interactivity and interest. It's very easy to upload and categorize your contacts as well. Love the easy links you get for your campaigns so you can just copy and paste into your messaging app. I use this for a ton of projects, on a monthly basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not a huge fan of the recent simplified dashboard and navigation set up. Doesn't let you go to your campaign if you click on it from there, you actually have to still go to your campaigns through the menu on the side. Wish there was an integration with KENECT, which is the main texting company we use. It would be nice to create templates in CC and just one click send a broadcast message from CC rather than the whole copy and paste option. Otherwise, very little to truly complain about. I really like using all of the features of Constant Contact when I first got the service I wasn’t really using everything, but then I started diving deeper into all of the different features that they have and you really can do everything here. You can manage social media, send out text message and email blast, etc. there’s a lot going on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can get costly depending on how many contacts you have so that’s been a hurdle of our ours. Also, it is a little confusing to understand which emails are good and which are bad because they suspend some emails but that doesn’t mean that they’re bad emails so I would wish that there was some kind of clarification with that. That way we don’t have a lot of dead contacts in our database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Been using over 2 years now. Constant Contact makes email marketing incredibly easy to manage, even for people who aren’t super tech-savvy. The drag-and-drop editor is intuitive, and there are plenty of well-designed templates that save tons of time. I also appreciate how organized everything is — from contact lists to campaign tracking. The reporting tools are also very helpful for understanding open rates, click-throughs, and engagement trends. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One downside is that some of the more advanced features — like automated email flows — can be a bit limited compared to other platforms. It would be great if they expanded their automation and segmentation options. Also, the pricing can get a little steep as your contact list grows. But overall, it’s a solid platform for small to mid-sized businesses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how easy it is to create consistent newsletter emails and social media posts to our clients and/or potential clients. I send monthly email blasts as well as emails and social posts to make special announcements. The polling feature is one of my favorites; it's a great way to interact directly with clients on a variety of topics. As a matter of fact, our clients voted on the theme for our next event! It is also nice to get the results of the campaign to see how many people are opening the emails and clicking on the links. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes I forget how to get to a feature I'd like to use. With a little trial and error, I am always able to find what I need. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My company used to use MailChimp for quite some time. We started having issues with uploading customer lists and trying to tweak them. It got to the point where we decided to drop them and never look back. We made the switch to Constant Contact and it has been a great experience.
We are able to upload the customer lists we want and tweak them easily without the system fighting us. There are so many tools for us to use for creation of company greetings or newsletters. We actually just brought in a full time marketing person who will begin utilizing Constant Contact more so than we were. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have not come across anything that I dislike with the service. If I need to pick something, I would say the ability to have a blank presentation model that will allow me to bring in something I designed outside of Constant Contact. You can copy and past something but it gets scaled down a bit and there is only so much it can be enlarged. This is a very minor complaint and I am more listing it just to fill this section in. Social scheduling is super easy (besides Twitter), and I like that I can plug in images from my photo gallery on social and in emails.
Building an email is also pretty easy, and has gotten easier as technology advances.
I also like the survey feature, that has been super helpful for us to get member feedback at conferences we host. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We get a lot of "bot clicks/ghost clicks" so our reporting is never truly accurate... which means we can't create accurate segmentation lists based on what people click on :( Plus, a lot of our members say my emails end up in their spam folders, which is not helpful when we want people to know about what events we are hosting.
The AI features could be helpful for some, but for us, it never generates good content we want to use.
We don't have a shop, so we don't have the ability to do automations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We use Constant Contact's email marketing tools for one of our newer brands. The implementation took less than 1 day. It was an easy choice for our business size and budget. Since implementing Constant Contact, I have not questioned my choice at all. We use the site for 3-4 email campaigns each month.
Early on, I contacted customer support a few times for help with implementation. The person I spoke with was very communicative and easy to schedule time with. During that period of time, I was able to contact the same representative each time I called. This saved time and allowed me to build a relationship with someone from Constant Contact, which helped make my team's transition to the site very smooth! I'd give them a 10/10 on the ease of integration.
I love how Constant Contact incorporates instructions, tips, and tricks naturally into the website content. Sometimes these types of things can be distracting or overwhelming-- learning by doing is more efficient for an impatient person like me! I want to create without getting interrupted by irrelevant or excess instructional information. Constant Contact does an amazing job at providing useful on-screen guidance without getting in the way. Plus, the research-backed suggestions are interesting and helpful! I haven't come across any other platforms that display *relevant* industry facts for users to see while they are working. It's useful to have a reference point when I am evaluating email campaign results and data.
In short, Constant Contact finds a way to be as helpful to their users as possible without distracting users from their work. And the price is extremely reasonable. If my job didn't pay for our subscription, I'd probably pay for it myself! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I find it difficult to connect landing pages to a specific domain, so the ones we use for our campaigns have URLs that look a bit messy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how easy it is to create professional-looking emails and newsletters. The reporting tools are also super helpful-they let me see who's opening, clicking, and engaging with our content. It makes outreach more strategic and effective, especially when we're trying to connect with volunteers and support seniors in our community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's a bit of a learning curve at first, especially when trying to customize templates or explore some of the deeper features. But once you get the hang of it, it becomes much easier to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Constant Contact has an intuitive interface with some powerful customization tools. Assembling and duplicating email templates is easy, and reporting is excellent. I particularly like the quick reporting after a mailing for my clients who need fast reassurance that they are reaching the audience. The included Heat Map reporting is limited, but useful. What I've just discovered is that ConstantContact pricing automatically ratchets UP but not down. My client had a list of approximately 5500 recipients of which over 800 had unsubscribed. They nevertheless remained in the 5000-7500 pricing tier for many months, and it took a lot of time on a support call to learn that I had to locate unsubscribed contacts, export them for backup, delete them and then request a "courtesy tier floor reset" to go from $157 down to $119/month. If you don't pay attention, you will pay far more than you're using. For seasonal users (e.g. once-a-year, every other year, etc) you really should request a "suspended account" immediately after your use. With this, you retain access to all historical lists and mailings, but nothing can be sent until you return to normal use. This changes your monthly billing to $10/month for whatever period of time you're not using the account. Customer Support is tedious and I was unable to use chat because of the automated AI-answers. Ability to integrate with many of the platforms I use. Love the social post feature! AI integration is pretty decent although some of the automations can do with a bit of polish. There are some pretty good tutorials but not enough for the novice marketeer to really jump in easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Pricing. Already pricey, especially for smaller more boutique businesses, add on all the additional features and there goes your marketing budget! They are trying to add some value by integrating AI but aside from rewriting some text, it doesn't feel fully integrated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
