Sometimes there are tech issues. I thought I lost one of my drafts because the system didn't update on my end. I spoke to tech, and they were really helpful and I was able to recover my draft, however I panic at the moment cause I had put hours of work into that draft. Also, when importing a script that's on PDF, I would like it if it could be imported in Celtx script format. I have imported scripts that were worked on Celtx, exported on PDF and when imported again to Celtx the format goes off and I have to rearrange dialogues, characters, and everything manually, one by one. Celtx has a great deal of cooperative elements that permit many individuals to deal with a similar content together. This is perfect for movies and creation group included can see the content, make changes to it, productive conversation can occur and leave notes. All can occur continuously. A popular saying is - Handyman, expert of none - and this is what carries out on Celtex as well. Being an essayist, I need to work just on my content with center and improve on the way. Thus, I don't require additional elements that make my work slow. Assuming any product is centered on working that I think performs better compared to some other who offers different capabilities. Celtx makes script writing fairly intuitive with the ability to list your character names, select actions and generally format a proper film script. There is very little that this program cannot do to help a budding writer get their first script off the ground. Also, it allows you to test the software for free before purchase. The price per month makes this a bit of an expensive solution. Though fairly reasonably priced for the solution overall if you are already running a business in this area, for someone who is just starting in film production, having extra costs monthly may prove a bit difficult. I paid about $130 for the service and it's created more problems than I could have ever expected.
As I would return to my script, I could swear updates weren't being saved. At first I thought it was all in my head. Then one day 8 pages vanished, even though I religiously save my work. There were so many other issues--page counts kept randomly changing, changes weren't being saved, it takes forever for the script to load when you re open it, I'm not able to delete text (I have to erase letters one by one). SO MANY ISSUES and new ones just keep popping up on a weekly basis.
When I brought this to their attention, they had no solutions. At one point, I had to start a new ticket because they just stopped responding. There were so many problems (I haven't even typed them all out in this review because there are so many and it's very time consuming and aggravating to properly explain them), so I asked if I could get on the phone with them to explain or have a screen sharing session with a technician. They said no, because they only provide support through email.
This has been the biggest waste. Not just of money, but of time and peace of mind. When you spend so much time writing, it's a nightmare thinking that your changes may not be saved. Every day, there are new bugs and absolutely no remedies. They haven't offered to do ANYTHING.
Please save yourself this headache and either buy a trusted software with actual tech support or write your own script through Word or google docs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
