Campaign Monitor's user interface is very good. It is one of the most simple email marketing tools I have personally used, with clear areas for one-off campaigns, automation and report viewing.

There is a lack of dedicated customer support when you're in the account itself. In emergencies that I have experienced before, I could only go through online articles or a digital assistance tool. This was not enough, as the account needed human intervention. As I do not regularly speak to our account manager, I did not know there was a dedicated support number. This isn't obvious enough. Campaign Monitor has an easy to use interface that makes building emails quick and easy. Our emails look great and we find that we have a reasonable level of flexibility when creating our templates. The system has a range of tools to assist with delivery rates and the solution caters for transaction, journey-base and campaign based emails, although we are predominantly using the solution for campaign emails and transactional. The reporting isn't as good as it could be in relation to transactional emails, however this is in part due to the way in which we are using the system (we essentially manage the journeys via our tech team and use the transactional feature more as a journey based solution).

Campaign Monitor has a seamless integration with our booking system, Roller Digital. This makes it extremely easy to pass data efficiently directly to Campaign Monitor. This empowers us to create automations based on various data fields along with always ensuring data is up to date and accurate. Due to the simple interface and email builder, it's also really easy for all of our team to use which makes us more efficient. As an agency, we utilize the template language they provide to build very custom templates for our clients who want to run their own email marketing on our agency account but need an easy-to-use custom template.

A few automation limitations based on how automation is triggered hold us back from some advanced triggers we'd like to implement.

We found their thorough API documentation helpful in building custom data feeds that any marketer can appreciate. Beyond the product itself, Campaign Monitor's customer support team excellent. The platform is super user-friendly - we use it daily and our team is happy with it. The customer support is great, everyone you encounter is helpful, reliable and responsive. There are incredible features that are integrated in the platform - some of the features are paid which we haven't unlocked, but there is an opportunity to explore the possibilities and improve your performance and email campaigns. There are some minor bugs, such as the Lists & Subscribers only being able to be accessed from specific browsers, which is a bit inconvenient. There was also an issue where one of our campaigns was not delivered to anyone on our list for 4 hours, only working after we logged support. We escalated the issue and got quick feedback which was appreciated; however, the feedback did not answer our concerns, suggesting the issue was due to queuing or mail servers and that the delay was normal in the email world even though we had never encountered this.
